The present work represents progress in the study of the characteristics of radio emission from the solar corona and spatio-temporal disturbances in geospace as well as in the development of remote sensing methods of such natural plasma phenomena. The paper contains the study of the solar radiation and the state of the ionosphere at decameter wavelengths (3 - 30 MHz). Authors possesses unique astronomical instruments, including the Ukrainian T-shape radio telescope UTR-2 (village Grakovo, Kharkov region) and electromagnetic environment research observatory (village Martovo, Kharkov region). In Ukraine, there is a strong school of decameter radio astronomy and radio physics of geospace, the center of which is the Institute of Radio Astronomy of NAS of Ukraine. The 21st century international initiative to establish a scientific concept of "Space weather", which should enable to predict and visualize the state of the near-Earth space, has become a confirmation of the relevance and importance of geospace research and study of solar- terrestrial relations. At the present time this area of research is of an extraordinary interest and actively studied by the international scientific community. The work by A. Kashcheyev, A. Koval and A. Sopin has made a significant contribution to the development of such research. The general idea of the work is that a comprehensive study of characteristics of corpuscular radiation and solar activity together with global geospace disturbances is principal. The conducted study of characteristics of radio emission from the quiet Sun and properties of the ionospheric plasma at decameter wavelengths gave the authors an opportunity to get important properties of the solar continuum such as energy and frequency characteristics of the radiation and the angular size of the solar corona. In addition, the diagnostic methods of wave-like disturbances in the ionosphere have been developed, their characteristics and main sources of excitation have been studied. The results of the work are presented in 18 scientific papers published in leading international journals including "Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics", "Radio Science", "Astronomical Notes", "Experimental Astronomy" and reported at national and international conferences.
