Carrying out full-scale tests of structural elements under non-stationary operating loads is rather complicated and expensive, therefore, to determine their strength, experimental and computational methods for assessing material properties are used, taking into account the strain rate and stress state. One of these tests types is static and dynamic punching. Comparison of the experimental results and numerical simulations to determine the parameters of material models is one of the important tasks of studying the high-strength materials behavior. Due to the variety of fracture mechanisms and their dependence on many factors, the procedure for determining the material models parameters is quite complex and requires comprehensive studies of the materials behavior at different stain rates and types of fracture. In this case, it is very important to choose the correct material model and determine its parameters. The use of numerical calculation methods is an integral part of comprehensive studies of the materials behavior under different load conditions. Comparison of the experimental results and numerical studies allows to more effectively determine the parameters of different models of materials deformation and destruction and to model the deformation and destruction processes of samples and structural elements at different load speeds, simulating operational ones. Therefore, the main goal of the work is an experimental-computational study of the behavior of high-strength materials in static and dynamic punching of thin plates, taking into account the strain rate.
