The research is devoted to the development of a molecular - genetic method for assessing the stability of the genome of different wheat varieties. The approach is based on the identification of genome instability in wheat varieties of Ukrainian breeding under low-dose UV-B and UV-C – exposure and drought with certain production characteristics of these varieties. The study will be carried out using ITS - ISSR - RAPD - PCR, which will not only identify the effects of instability, but also the most vulnerable DNA sequences. The estimates will be the basis for forecasting the ecological plasticity of new wheat varieties. Genome instability is a central factor in carcinogenesis and a number of other serious human diseases, in plant organisms it leads to morphological changes, loss of fertility and reduced adaptive potential. These manifestations of genome instability are extremely important as a factor in disrupting the production process in cultivated plants, in particular cereals. Thus, the identification of the relationship between the development of genome instability under the climate conditions in already known wheat varieties with certain production characteristics is essential and will be the basis for predicting the ecological plasticity of new wheat varieties. Modern methods of molecular biology expand the possibilities of assessing DNA instability under the action of various stressors. One of them, and very promising in terms of assessing the vulnerability of certain DNA sequences, is the use of molecular genetic methods, in particular PCR with different families of primers. A series of laboratory and vegetation studies will conduct a comparative analysis of the degree of genome instability through different varieties of wheat of Ukrainian breeding and a statistical assessment of the relationship of this indicator with the production characteristics of certain varieties.
