He was born on May 8, 1953 in Argudin village, now Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia. In 1975 graduated from Kabardino-Balkaria University (Nalchik city). In 1978 was the postgraduate student of IGIC AS USSR. In 1980 defended his candidate's dissertation in the specialty "Electrochemistry". Until 1992 worked in the department of high-temperature electrochemical synthesis. Developed the principles of managing multielectronic electrochemical processes, the technology of synthesis of ultrafine tungsten carbide, the technology of coating molybdenum and tungsten carbides on the tool and parts of machines, the technology of metallization of diamond powders by carbides. On the research and production enterprise of IGIC AS USSR, has established production of experimental batches of ultrafine powder of tungsten carbide and metallized diamond powders.
Since 1991 has been a doctor of chemistry, in 1998 has been awarded the title of professor, in 1999 was head of the department of inorganic and physical chemistry at the University of Kabardino-Balkaria, and since 2003 is Honored Worker of Sciences of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. At the same time, since 2003 is the head of the Center for Collective Use "X-ray diagnostic of materials". Specialist in the field of high-temperature physical chemistry, electrochemistry and ion melts, electrochemical production of refractory and rare-earth metals, electrochemical synthesis of refractory compounds, electrochemical modification of superhard materials of structural and functional purpose.
