Summary:«Гармонія, історія та відтворення річки Дніпро» – ця книга є дуже цiкавою через дві причини. По-перше, це спроба дати пояснення немiцної екосистеми Днiпра – рiки, яка маєвкрайважливе значення для мілiонiв украiнських людей, котрiусвідомлюютьiї тяжке становище внаслідок радiонуклідного забруднення, спричиненого Чорнобильською катастрофою. Друга причинаполягає в тому, що це наш шлях розумiння навколишнього середовища, який склався у вкрай материалiстичному суспiльстві. Він не придатний дляiнших країн і передбачає інакші, бiльш цiлісні, навiть духовні взаємовiдносини з навколишнім середовищем. Таким чином, ця книга є цiкавою спробою зв’язати ключовi питання навколишнього середовища з довгоюiсторiєю й культурою людей, якi живуть у ньому.

Summary:This book will greatly interest for two main reasons. Number one is that this is the first attempt of its kind to explain the fragile ecosystem of the Dnipro – a river of extreme importance to the millions of Ukrainian people who found it in a disastrous state after the nuclear pollution resulting from the Chernobyl catastrophe. The second reason is that our way thinking about the environment, coming from our highly materialistic society, does not easily fit other countries, which may have a different, more holistic – even spiritual – relationship with the environment. Therefore, this book is an interesting attempt to link key environment concern with the long history and culture of the people living there.
