Summary:Узагальнені відомості щодо водоростей флори України. Загальна кількість таксонів водоростей, що включена у видання, нараховує 967 родів та 4943 види (5906 внутрішньовидових таксонів). Даний том присвячений діатомовим водоростям – Bacillariophyta (157 родів, 945 видів – 1163 внутрішньовидових таксонів). Для кожного таксону наведені номенклатурні дані, включаючи базіонім, основні синоніми, а також місцезростання, поширення на території України та у світі. У додатку представлені оригінальні рисунки та мікрофотографії видів, що були вперше описані для науки з території України або є рідкісними у флорі України.

Summary:The present book is an inventory of algae species names found in the algal flora of Ukraine up until 2009. The total number of algal taxa included in this edition is 967 genera and 4,943 species (5,906 infraspecific taxa). The present volume is dedicated to taxa of algae of Bacillariophyta (157 genera and 945 species – 1,163 infraspecific taxa). For each taxa, nomenclatural data including basionym, main synonyms, as well as occurrence and distribution in Ukraine with references to world distribution is gives. An atlas of original drawings and microphotographs of new and some rare species or taxa from Ukraine are described and noteworthy recordings for this flora are included.
