The work of systematic research on the phase of equilibrium in ternary systems Ti-Dy-{Si, Sn, Al} and on the relationship of structure, phase composition with the physical and mechanical properties of eutectic alloys class systems Ti-Si-{Sn, Ga, Al, Zr, В} was carried out in a widely concentrated interval.
Purpose is to obtain the scientific data on the phase of equilibrium and to identify common patterns in phase, structure and relationship composition-structure-properties in alloys of the multi-component systems Ti-RE-{Si, Sn, Al} and Ti-Si-{Sn, Ga, Al , Zr, B}.
The data obtained on the structure of phase diagrams of ternary systems Ti-RE-{Si, Sn, Al} and the structure and properties of alloys forms the theoretical foundation, which is essential for developing structural and functional materials with a predetermined set of properties. This knowledge allows one to consciously choose the optimal content of the main alloying elements and the heat treatment conditions and materials. The study of structural and phase transformations are mechanical and physical properties of ternary eutectic alloys systems Ti-Si-{Sn, Ga, Al , Zr, B} with the intermetallic hardening of their complex alloying expand knowledge in the areas of the metallurgy of titanium and scientific principles to create new titanium alloys with a given set of properties.
As a result of the common works of IPMS NASU and the company "Real" (Zaporozhye) practical recommendations on the optimization of structure, properties, and technology for a range of new titanium-based alloys, including ternary eutectic alloys Ti-Si-B - the production target PVD technologies for applying heat resistant coatings with improved durability have been developed.
