The increased level of anthropogenic pressure on the environment in Ukraine is mainly due to the irrational nature of nature management and the imperfection of the environmental safety management system, in particular, at the regional level. Management in this area requires the availability of tools to provide objective information to support the adoption of operational, adequate to the current situation decisions, taking into account the long-term dynamics of environmental processes. Accordingly, the purpose of the research is to develop scientific and practical approaches to environmental assessment and forecasting of the ecological state of ecosystems in the zone of potential flooding based on the use of space monitoring technologies and geographic information systems. To achieve this goal, a number of the following tasks are formed: - collection and analysis of environmental information on the state of the Carpathian region, which are in the zone of potential flooding; - conducting an ecological assessment of the condition of the territories located in the zone of potential flooding with the use of space monitoring technologies and geographic information systems; - forecasting the ecological status of areas in the zone of potential flooding on the basis of developed scientific and practical approaches - formation of recommendations for environmental safety management and prevention of environmental emergencies in the study areas
