Про унікальну експозицію, яка налічує понад 300 тисяч артефактів і зберігається в Археологічному музеї Інституту українознавства імені І. Крип’якевича НАН України, розповіли інформаційному порталу «Zaxid.net» співробітники цієї установи.
Колекцію зібрано силами науковців Академії. Вона складається з артефактів, які датуються як добою палеоліту, так і пізнім середньовіччям. Особливою гордістю археологів є шкіряне взуття давніх мешканців Львова, що зберіглося у надзвичайно хорошому стані. На думку завідувача археологічного музею Інституту українознавства імені І. Крип’якевича НАН України кандидата історичних наук Наталії Булик, колекція варта того, щоб експонуватися в окремому великому музеї, на який вже давно заслуговує Львів.
Як підкреслив керівник відділу археології згаданого інституту доктор історичних наук, професор Олександр Ситник, музею гостро бракує наукових кадрів, які б обслуговували експозицію на постійній основі.
Директор Інституту українознавства імені І. Крип’якевича НАН України доктор історичних наук, професор Микола Литвин наголосив, що Львів є визнаним світовим туристичним центром, а тому потребує великого історичного музею, де б науковці мали можливість відкрити для широкого загалу не тільки повну інститутську експозицію археологічних артефактів, але й унікальні колекції ікон і давнього одягу.
