Summary:This new edition is updated since the publication of the 9th edition in 2001. The book has the following new features: a completely new classification of the Kingdom Fungi based on recent phylogenetics research; further integration of anamorphic and teleomorphic genera in classification; revision of the classification of the Basidiomycota. It has more than 21,000 entries on[⇒] systematics, physiology, biochemistry, ecology on true fungi and unrelated groups traditionally studied by mycologists, some applied aspects of mycology. In addition, there are biographic notes on most prominent mycologists. It provides the most complete listing available of generic names of fungi, key modern references are given.
