The work is aimed at the design, creation, modernization and study of plasma guns operating on the principle of breakdown on the surface of the insulator. In particular, it is planned:
• determining the influence of electrophysical parameters of the discharge circuit on the stability of plasma guns;
• research of various materials that can be used as a dielectric, through which an electrical breakdown takes place to find the most energy-efficient conditions for the creation of plasma that meet the practical purposes of use;
• obtaining a set of experimental data in the form of a practical guide, which will reflect the recommendations for optimal modes of operation in different conditions of plasma guns, in particular for charged particle accelerators with a plasma current switch.
