Sergey Solopan was born on June 14, 1982 in Korosten, Zhytomyr region. From 1999 to 2004 he studied at the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University at the Chemical Faculty at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry. In 2004-2007 he studied the postgraduate course at Vernadskii Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry. In 2009 he defended his PhD thesis on "Sol-gel synthesis of nanosized Pb- and Sn-containing compounds with perovskite structure". In 2021, he defended his doctoral dissertation "Synthesis, structure and properties of nanoscale magnetic systems based on oxide compounds with spinel and perovskite structures". From 2009 till now he works at the Vernadskii Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine.
He is actively involved and responsible for several scientific projects. In 2011 - 2012 he was the head of the grant "Grant of NAS of Ukraine for realization of projects of research works of young scientists" № 09.06 / 12 "Development of methods of synthesis of non-agglomerated nanosized materials and research of their properties". In 2013, he won a grant of the President of Ukraine to support the research of young scientists (Decree No. 316/2013, dated October 4, 2013) No. F49 / 414-2013 "Synthesis and investigation of the properties of nanosized weakly aggregated proton and oxygen conducting materials and" core-shell "structures based on them".
Sergii Solopan is the laureate of two awards of Ukraine for young scientists in particular: in 2011, the Laureate of the "Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Prize for the most talented young scientist in the field of basic and applied research and scientific and technical development" for the complex of scientific works "Functional materials based on complex oxide systems, synthetic oxide systems, structure, properties, application) »; in 2014, Laureate of the Presidential Prize of Ukraine for Young Scientists for the complex of scientific works "Synthesis, Properties and Practical Application of Nanocrystalline Ferromagnetic, Lithium Conductive and Ultra High Frequency Oxide Systems".
Married, has a son of 2013 and a daughter of 2017.
The main directions of scientific activity of Sergii Solopan are investigations of the features of synthesis of nanosized particles, films and core / shell structures based on a number of oxide materials characterized by ferromagnetic, dielectric, oxygen and lithium conductive properties. Based on the obtained results, he developed methods of synthesis: sol-gel methods, precipitation in microemulsions and non-aqueous solutions. Methods and conditions of synthesis and properties of core / shell structures based on ferromagnetic materials have been developed. The features of obtaining thick films of oxide materials were studied. Based on the synthesized nanoparticles, magnetic fluids have been developed that have been used in medicine as inducers of hyperthermia in malignant tumors.
