FarfuliakLiudmyla was born in 1979, has a higher education, a researcher in the Seismic hazard department of S.I. Subbotin Institute of Geophysics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Farfuliak L. graduated Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University in 2002. She studied at the Geological Faculty, received a Master's degree in geophysics with the right to teach lessons in higher educational institutions, and in the same year entered the post-graduate course of the S.I. Subbotin Institute of Geophysics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, specialty "Geophysics". From 2002 to 2005 she worked in the “oil and gas prospecting” department of the Ukrainian State Geological Exploration Institute as an engineer of the first category. Since 2005 - as a leading engineer, since 2008 - as a junior researcher, and since 2017 a science researcher at the present time at the S.I. Subbotin Institute of Geophysics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
From the first days of work at the Institute of Geophysics, she conducted an analysis of experimental seismological data, scientific studies and generalizations of geological and geophysical data of the Eastern European platform within Ukraine.
Actively participated in the development of scientific topics at the S.I. Subbotin Institute of Geophysics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
In the process of the researching, on the basis of its own development, revision, adaptation to the local conditions of world achievements, Farfuliak L. thoroughly studied the deep structure and dynamics of the crust within the limits of the Scythian microplate. It uses all the available geological and geophysical information on this territory: data from the deep sounding of the 1960s and 1980s and the results of new WARR surveys of the earth's crust, carried out in the 1999 to 2013 years. Farfuliak L. took part in the field work on the International project of the "DOBRE". The logical result of scientific researches she has prepared dissertation work for obtaining a scientific degree of the candidate of geological sciences that was titled "Deep structure of the western part of the Scythian microplate based on present seismic data ". Scythian microplate is an important structural element of the lithosphere, which is situated between the Eastern European platform, as the southern part of the ancient Eurasian plate, and the Alpine-Himalayan folded belt. Geological and tectonic interpretation of deep seismic sounding data along profiles within Ukraine allows for obtaining new material necessary for substantiation of geodynamic conditions of the process of formation of research area, which in the future can be used for search of oil and gas deposits and prediction of the danger from earthquakes.
