He was born on January 7, 1961 in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. After graduating from high school, he worked from autumn 1978 to spring 1979 as a laboratory assistant at the Zhytomyr branch of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. From 1979 to 1981 passed a regular service in the Soviet Armed Forces. From 1982 to 1987 studied at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (now the National Technical University of Ukraine, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), the Faculty of Chemical Technology. In 1987-1988 worked as a change master at the Radikal Plant in Kyiv. In 1988-1991 was a postgraduate student at IGIC NASU. In 1996 defended his Ph.D thesis "Synthesis and study of the properties of complex niobium and tantalum oxides with perovskite structure". In 1998-2000 worked as a junior research associate, than research associate, and from 2001 to the present time continues to work as a senior researcher at IGIC NASU.
His scientific interests are concentrated on the development of various functional oxide materials, the search for ways to synthesize powders of complex oxide systems, solid solutions, and ceramics using "soft chemistry" methods. Used physico-chemical methods of research, allowing to establish the relationship of structural features and electrical and physical properties of complex oxides.
