Doctor of Technical Sciences (1978), professor of metallurgy (1983). Laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR in the field of science and technology (1980). He is also a political scientist, publicist, poet and translator, a member of the All-Ukrainian Society of Political Prisoners and Repressed, the chairman of the Ukrainian-language club "Heritage".
Kocherzinsky Yuriy Alexandrovich was born on March 26, 1924 in the city of Berdychiv, Zhytomyr region. His father was the first director of the Berdychiv Pedagogical College.
In 1942 he graduated from Kharkiv School of Factory Studies (FZN). Received a certificate of a locksmith. He was a party to the Second World War. After completing the war, he studied at the Siberian Metallurgical Institute, then at the Metallurgical Faculty of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, who graduated in 1949.
Then he worked at the Institute of Ferrous Metallurgy of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. From 1953 to 1979 - at the Institute of Metal Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, after which he worked in the Institute of Superhard Materials of the ANU in Kyiv in 1992. He was the head of the first, from 1989 to 1991 was a leading scientific specialist, and then - a senior scientific specialist-consultant of the department of physico-chemical bases of synthesis of superhard materials.
In 2007, he published the book "Two paths of human development: symbiotic and parasitic, corresponding to their ethics and ecology, or about the natural causes of the modern catastrophe of mankind and the environment and ways to overcome it" (2007).
