До двадцять другого випуску «Студій з україністики» увійшла праця «На варті нації» відомого українського поета, письменника, критика та перекладача Юрія Косача (1908–1990) — натхненний нарис історії української літератури з погляду демократичного націоналізму, де ідея української державності є провідною та визначальною в осмисленні літературного процесу. Цей літературознавчий есей двічі готувався до друку (1936, 1943), але, на жаль, через різні причини так і не був надрукований окремою книжкою. Рекомендовано як навчальний посібник для слухачів Міжнародної школи україністики НАН України та студентів гуманітарних факультетів вищих навчальних закладів.

Until the twenty-second issue of the «Studios on Ukrainian Studies», the work of «The Watchmen of the Nation» by the famous Ukrainian poet, writer, critic and translator Yuri Kosach (1908-1990) included an inspirational essay on the history of Ukrainian literature from the standpoint of democratic nationalism, where the idea of Ukrainian statehood is a leading and decisive in understanding the literary process. This literary essay was prepared twice for publication (1936, 1943), but, unfortunately, due to various reasons, it was never printed by a separate book. Recommended as a textbook for students of the International School of Ukrainian Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and students of the humanities faculties of higher educational institutions.
