Main field: diffusional and phase transformations in solid solutions: statistical thermodynamics and kinetics.
Other fields: statistical physics, condensed matter theory and computational modelling of phases of (non)stoichiometric compounds: interatomic interactions, crystallographic and statistical-thermodynamic aspects of order–disorder phase transformations, short- and long-range ordering.
Current research interest:
(i) graphene and related 2D materials: structural, electronic and transport properties, strain and defect engineering;
(ii) point and line defects in graphene and related 2D materials: their spatial correlation and ordering effects on conductivity;
(iii) order–disorder phase transitions in solid solutions under high pressures and temperatures;
(iv) Fe16N2 magnetic phase as an alternative material for permanent magnets.
