Summary:Основні принципи та сучасний стан досліджень в оптиці диспергованого стану викладені в достатньо загальній та стислій формі. Не претендуючи на повноту викладення автори намагаються по суті ввести читача в проблему діелектричних та оптичних властивостей композитних середовищ, формулюючи їхнє бачення основних особливостей, методів та підходів для опису таких систем. В перших трьох[⇒] розділах розглянуто поглинання та розсіяння світла ізольованими частинками та їх ансамблями без врахування взаємодії між ними, а також поверхневі моди в малих частинках та ефективну діелектричну функцію (наближення ефективного середовища) композитних систем. Наступні три розділи стосуються в основному новітніх досягнень в фізиці малих частинок та композитних середовищ: оптики складних частинок та фрактальних систем, квантово-розмірних ефектів різного типу, а також нелінійної оптики композитного середовища, коли збільшення нелінійності розглядається як результат збільшення локального поля.

Summary:Main principles and current status of researches on optics of dispersed state are set out in rather general and shorthand form. By no means pretending to completeness and full consistency of the presentation, the autors propose in introduction to the problem of the dielectric and optical properties of composite media, formulating their seeing of main pecularities, methods and[⇒] approachers to the description of such systems. The first three sections deal with adsorption and scattering of light by isolated particles and their ensembles in the absence of interaction, as well as with surface modes small particles and the effective dielectric function (effective medium approximations) for composite systems. The next three sections cover predominantly the newest advances of physics of small particles and composite media: optics of complex particles and fractal systems, quantum-size effects of various types, as well as nonlinear optics of composite media, where the nonlinearity enhancement is considered as result of the rise of the local field factor.
